Stepping into a new space can feel daunting. Here’s what to expect when you attend one of our gatherings.
The North Park Church community loves to snack and chat before service. When you step inside, to the left is a room full of tables, chairs, snacks, and coffee.
To the right is the sanctuary, a long, simply sanctuary with orange-appareled pews. We’re a simple gathering. No fancy lights. No high-tech worship gear. Just a simple room that allows a small community to gather.
Our services start at 10:45. At the outset, everyone is welcomed, encouraged to stand if able, and sing. We sing, hear a Scripture read, and a prayer prayed. Afterwards, we go over a few announcements and dismiss kids to Kids Church (grades: Kindergarten-5th Grade). After the kids are dismissed a member from our Teaching Team teaches through that day’s text. We typically move through books of the Bible, staying in no book any longer than 14 weeks. After that, we respond in song and the community is dismissed via a Benediction.
While we have weekly rhythm, we also have monthly rhythms. Once a month we do communion. Once a month we pray together corporately. Once a month we discuss Scripture. And once a month we hear someone’s story, hearing how God has worked and/or is currently working.
That’s it!
We hope this might alleviate some fear if you’re a first-time visitor. Our community is friendly and we hope that is your experience too.
