“Ah, the good life!”
When you hear that phrase, you probably think of Beverly Hills, Palm Springs, a Caribbean Island, or some other place where the rich and famous lounge around their swimming pools or cruise by in their super yachts. But doesn’t something in our gut tell us the good life isn’t that simple?
People in Beverly Hills or floating on yachts aren’t any happier on average than people in Eugene or any other city. They may enjoy more comfort and luxury but they have no more joy and fulfillment. In fact, some of the most miserable people in the world are those who live only for the things money can buy.
